Text Box Properties
This dialog is used to set the properties for a text box plot item, and is accessed when a new text box is added to the current sheet (using the Manage ribbon command - Insert | Plot Item | Text Box) - in this scenario the dialog comprises a single tab - or by right-clicking an existing text box and selecting Text Box Properties..., in which case three tabs are shown:

As with any scalable plot item, you can edit dimensions by entering Page Layout Mode (toggled with theManageribbon andLayout | Layout Mode) and dragging the resize boxes on screen. When resizing a plot item:

This tab contains the following fields:
Width: specify the width of the text box in mm. You can use the spin buttons or type a value directly into the field.
Size to Fit Contents: if selected, the height of the current text box will 'snap' to the height of the text within it. If cleared, you can enter a Height setting manually (see below)
Height: set the height of the text box in mm.
Color...: select a color from the drop down list. The selected color will be applied to the text and border (if one exists).
Font...: displays a font picker dialog, to set the font face of the text contained within the current text box.
Opaque: this check box determines whether the contents of the text box are opaque (selected) or transparent (cleared). For example, the following text box was applied without selecting the Opaque check box:
Amending the properties of this item (right-click and select Text Box Properties...), selecting the Opaque check box and clicking Apply results in the following screen image:
Border: select this check box to draw a border around the current item.
Contents: the text contained within the current item. You can edit this field to change the information displayed.
This tab is used to set the vertical and horizontal alignment of the contents of the selected plot item. Select a Horizontal and Vertical option.
To see the affects of changes made with this dialog, click Apply (to apply changes and keep the dialog open) or OK (to apply the changes and dismiss the dialog. |
