Studio Mapper & MineTrust

Studio Mapper integrates with Datamine's data management framework: MineTrust.

Consider MineTrust if you need to share data with other stakeholders efficiently, and need to be sure that the latest data is actually the ultimate version of the 'truth'.

MineTrust facilitates secure data sharing via MineTrust Online. See MineTrust-aware Projects.

Mapper Data Migration Tool

To ensure Studio Mapper data is in an expected and consistent configuration for MineTrust, we have developed the Mapper Data Migration Tool. This ensures metadata within your project files is in a format that MineTrust understands, ensuring simple and seamless data sharing afterwards.

The Mapper Data Migration Tool can be downloaded from the Datamine Customer Portal (external link, login credentials required).

Note: If you need help accessing the Datamine Customer Portal, please contact your local Datamine office.

Once downloaded, converting local data to a MineTrust-ready format is straightforward:

  1. If you haven't already, download the MineTrust Connector tool and configure an endpoint for data hosting. See MineTrust-aware Projects.

  2. Launch the MineTrust Data Migration Tool.

Note: If you see a message indicating that a .NET download is required, complete this download then reopen the tool.

  3. On the Welcome screen, click Next.

  4. On the Data sources screen, Browse for the database folder to migrate.

If you have multiple databases to prepare, add their locations too (click "+" to add another item).

  5. Click Next.

  6. On the Area definitions screen, choose the Mine and Area definitions to migrate:

    • Expand the Area list and pick the existing area definition containing data for migration.

    • Expand the Mine list and pick the mine data to migrate.

Tip: Click the Path URL to open the Windows folder containing the target data.

Note: Errors display if invalid values are picked.

  7. Review the Maps displayed (these can't be changed but will indicate if expected data is included in the migration).

  8. Click Next.

  9. On the Review data for import screen, make sure the data shown matches what you expect. This is the data that will be migrated and potentially subject to data changes.

  10. Click Backup data to create a pre-migration snapshot of your data. You must back up your date before you continue. You can fall back to this if something unexpected happens during or after migration.

Note: Backup data is stored in your local AppData folder, for example: C:\Users\myaccount\AppData\Local\Temp\Datamine\MapperDataImport\Backup_220125_144914.

  11. Click Start to begin the data transformation process.

  12. Migration won't take long and, once all stages are complete, data synchronization with MineTrust begins straight away (a MineTrust Connector Dashboard message indicates this).

  13. Click Next.

  14. On the Data migration complete screen, click Save CSV Report if you want to save a record of migration results.

  15. Click Finish, or return to previous screens to migrate other data.
