evaluate-1-string ("ev1")

See this command in the command table.

To access this command:

  • Report ribbon > Evaluate > String > Single String.

  • Using the command line, enter "evaluate-1-string" and press ENTER.

  • Use the quick key combination "ev1".

  • Display the Find Command screen, locate evaluate-1-string and click Run.

Command Overview

Evaluate a selected string, against either a block model or drillholes, by projection perpendicular to the view plane.

Evaluation results can be saved to a new object using the Save Results option on the Evaluation Results screen. Data is saved as a results object (visible in the Loaded Data and Project Data control bars) and can be saved to a physical file. Any existing evaluation results of the same name are overwritten.

Note: you can evaluate against either model or drillhole data. This is set using the Project Settings screen (Mine Design > Evaluation Control).

This command constructs an internal wireframe by projecting the selected string perpendicular to the current view plane. The wireframe is evaluated against a cell model or drillholes. Tonnages and grades for the cell model fields or drillhole samples are reported.

This command displays the Evaluation Settings screen, followed by the Evaluation Results screen.

Command Automation

You can automate by passing this command and parameters into oDmApp.ParseCommand(), using any COM-aware scripting language.

Note: For more information on scripting in Studio NPVS+, please refer to your Scripting Tutorial (Help > Scripting Tutorial).

Example Parameter String (JS):

oDmApp.ParseCommand("evaluate-1-string @point=100.0,200.0,0.0,1 '10' '2.0' '15.0' '2.7' 'yes'";

Where:

  • @point=100.0,200.0,0.0,1 is the ParsePointArguments: X,Y,Z,nButton.

  • '10' is the strBlockID: a string value parsed as a numeric block identifier.

  • '2.0' is the strNearDistance: a string value parsed as a numeric near projection distance.

  • '15.0' is the strFarDistance: a string value parsed as a numeric far projection distance.

  • '2.7' is the strDensity: a string value parsed as a numeric density value.

  • 'yes' is the strAcceptResults: a string value parsed to a yes/no intent. (Parameter is not actually used so can be left as the example and ignored).
