Trace Properties - Attached Objects Dialog An explanation of fields and properties |
To access this dialog use:
-
In the Sheets control bar, 3D folder, Strings sub-folder, expand a strings object, right-click a listed string item number, select Properties.
-
In the Trace Properties dialog, select the Attached Objects tab.
The Attached Objects tab is used to see which objects are currently attached to a string.
Field Details:
The following fields are available on the Attached Objects tab:
Associated Objects List: all objects that are currently attached to the selected string are shown in this list. The Time shown represents the delay that is applied to an object before it is viewed in a 3D simulation. See Related Topics for more information on creating a flythrough, or attaching objects to strings.
Items shown in this list are read-only, however, you can move items to the right of the dialog using the right arrow, and fields can be edited before putting the amended item back into the list (using the left arrow button).
Start Time: the first of two items that need to be specified when adding a VR object to the Associated Objects List. This value represents the delay (in seconds) before an object is moved along the selected string as part of a simulation.

Attached objects must have an associated speed (as set in the Object dialog) otherwise an object will not move along the associated string during a simulation. |
Object: you can select an existing 3D object from this drop-down list. All objects not currently attached to the selected string are listed (objects are added to the 3D world as a specific type as described in Placing objects on surfaces). You can attach an object to the string by selecting it from the list, (optionally) specifying a start delay time and clicking the left arrow button.
Action Buttons: from top to bottom, the available buttons are:
Attach an object to the selected string, and append the existing list of attached objects.
Remove an attached object from the string, and make it available from the Object list.
Delete the selected object from the attached objects list, and from the current project.
Objects can be attached to a string for simulation purposes, using the Object dialog's Attach to String field.
The Attached Objects tab is one of two tabs available within this dialog, the other is Vertices, which shows a list of all XYZ data related to each vertex on the selected string.
