Describing fields and properties

Update Schedule

To access this dialog use one of the following:

  • Activate the Schedule ribbon and select Schedule | Update.

When accessing the following dialogs from the Update Schedule dialog, certain features are 'greyed out' to restrict their functionality. This means that only quantitative settings can be edited. Click Help in the following dialogs to launch a context-sensitive help page.

In general, the Update option will highlight errors (if they exist) within two areas of the Destinations for a project: Total Capacity and Period capacity, and will automatically highlight the affected record in the schedule and allow you to make adjustments to fix it.

This makes it quick and easy to check your schedule and fix any problems/conflicts.

For example: if one unit of block A has been mined - that is, 10% of the block - and the reserves associated with it are updated from '10' to '100', it is then possible to display the quantity of mined units in two ways:

  • Preserving the percent complete results in the schedule being updated to show 10% of the new reserve:10 units.
  • Preserving the units results in the schedule being updated to show 1% of the new reserve:1 unit

Loading: specify whetherPercentorUnits are preserved forLoadingactivities.

Drill & Blast: specify whetherPercentorUnits are preserved forDrill & Blast activities.

Clipping

Keep all activities: activities associated with any new periods you create using the Calendars option are appended to any existing activities in the schedule.

Keep activities in progress at start of calendar: if an activity is in progress during the period associated with a newly-created activity, then all newly-created activities are appended to it.

Clip activities in progress at start of calendar: if an activity is in progress during the period associated with a newly-created activity, then it is clipped to show only the remaining part of the activity, and all newly-created activities are appended to it.

Timekeeping

Maintain scheduled time: when the scheduled times associated with an activity are updated, the scheduled times associated with subsequent activities either remain unchanged, or these activities will start later, if necessary, to accommodate changes to the schedule. Selecting this option may result in gaps between scheduled activities.

Schedule at earliest time: when the scheduled times associated with an activity are updated, and its length is reduced, all subsequent activities are updated to remove any gaps which occur in the schedule as a result.
