Command Overview

Projects a string outwardly from the control string by a berm width to create new string.

Command steps:

  1. Ensure string data is available to act as a control string.

  2. Run command

  3. The Z coordinates of the points on the string remain unchanged. The X and Y coordinate points are altered depending on the berm width. If there is a selected string this string will be used, otherwise you are asked to select a string.

  4. A berm string will be added on the outside edge of the control string.

This command is one of a suite of commands that can be used for road design. The berm width can be set using the command set-berm-width.

The 'outside' of a string is determined by the order of the vertices. You can, if you wish alter the inside and outside status of a string using reverse-string.

Tip: Whilst digitizing, you can complete the digitizing operation by double-clicking or double-tapping the final string vertex position. You can also complete the digitizing operation by closing the string.
