Viewing a 3D object from an inside perspective

View From Inside

In View From Inside mode the viewing position is fixed at, or offset from, the origin of the selected 3D Object or fixed viewpoint. As such, the actions of the navigation controls differ from other modes and are restricted to changing the view direction only.

View Navigation Controls

The view movements available after View From Inside has been selected, are listed in the Fixed Viewpoint  + View From Inside section of the table on the navigation controls page.

 

To enter View From Inside mode, use one of the following methods:  

  • In the Sheets control bar, VR Objects folder, right-click an object name, choose Inside View.

  • Using theViewribbon, select a 3D Object or fixed viewpoint from the Viewpoint list, then click View From Inside.

  • When View From Outside View mode is active, using the 3D folder's right-click option.

To offset the Inside View position from the object origin

  1. In the Sheets control bar, 3DObject Types folder, double-click the relevant object type to display the Object Type Properties dialog.

  2. Change the X (left-right), Y (front-back) and Z (up-down) viewpoint offsets as required.

View From Inside mode is cancelled when you select Floating View mode, or an object from the Viewpoint list, or when Outside View is chosen for an object in the Sheets control bar, 3DObjects folder.
