Shell Templates
Shell templates are templates from which the component's properties have been stripped. They are often used in conjunction with the auto-create features. See Add New Auto-Create Entries.
A normal template file contains component properties. This means that adding a normal template creates components that are an exact copy of the template. There are no properties stored in a shell template. This means that adding a shell template creates components that are a copy of the component's default settings. The default settings for each component can be found in the Options Tab.
Shell templates can be created and inserted in the same way as regular templates. See Create a Template and Add a Template to a Project.
