Draw and Configure a Scatter Plot
The Scatter Plot tab provides options for configuring the presentation of the Scatter plot.
Activity Steps
- Display the graph.
- In the Property Panel, select the ScatterPlot tab.
- Configure the following options as required.
- Draw – Select how to draw the data points from Circle, Cross, Plus, Dot and None.
- Show 1:1 – Correlation line.
- Use same scale for both Variables
- Independent X Variable field group:
- Independent X Variable – The variable the scatter plot was created under, shown on the X-axis. This option cannot be changed.
- Log10 – Use a logarithmic scale for the X-axis. Only available when Transform is set to None.
- Transform – Select how to transform the X-axis data from None, Log, NormalScores and Rank.
- Despike – Remove noise from the X-axis. Only available when Transform is set to Rank or NormalScores.
- Independent Y Variable field group:
- Dependent Y Variable – Select the variable to display on the Y-axis.

- Colouring field group:
- Column – Select the data column to colour the scatter points from the available options.
- Key – Colour the scatter plot by value.
- Mouse Point Indicators field group:
- Show Indicators of Mouse Point – Show the intercept lines and coordinates when hovering the mouse over the graph.
- Decimals – The number of decimals intercept coordinates display.
- Control Lines from 1:1 Line field group:
- % difference – Show control lines with a specified percentage difference from the correlation line.
- Control Line Percentage Diff – Percentage applied to the % difference control lines. Only available if % difference is checked.
- Fixed value – Show control lines with a fixed difference from the correlation line.
- Control Line Diff Value – Value applied to the Fixed value control lines. Only available if Fixed value is checked.
- Colouring – Colour points based on control lines. Only available if % difference or Fixed value is selected.
