Data Comparison

Supervisor can produce the following plots to compare data from multiple domains and assay types:

  • Box and Whisker Plots – Provide a visual representation of the statistics and dispersion of a data set.
  • QQ Plots – Visually compare two distributions to determine their similarity. For example, you may wish to compare original assay results with repeat assays from a different laboratory.
  • Scatter Plots – Directly compare paired data and the degree of scatter or spread of results on the graph to give a visual indication of the correlation between the attributes.
  • Hexbin Plots – Show the relationship between two variables, such as assay types, in your data set.
  • Correlation Matrix – Display the correlation between all the possible pairs of variables.
  • Contact Analysis – Show whether boundaries represent real geological contacts.
  • Global Topcut Analysis – Assess data distribution and reduce the impact of extreme data values by setting maximum values on the entire dataset.
  • Local Topcut Transition Model – Reduce the impact of extreme values by re-weighting samples depending on their distribution.
