Optimise Kriging Neighbourhood Analysis Block Size

Optimising the block size is the first step involved in Refining a Kriging Neighbourhood Analysis. The Blocks tab provides options for configuring the KNA component.

Activity Steps

  1. Select the KNA component from the Project Tree.
  2. Select the Blocks tab from the Property Panel.
  3. Configure the following options as required.
    • Update – Update the KNA plot with the new Block sizes.
    • Block Ranges And Steps field group:
      • Min – Minimum range to generate block sizes from.
      • Max – Maximum range to generate block sizes from.
      • Step – Distance between blocks.
    • Fill Block Size Table – Generate the Block Sizes table from the data in the fields above.
    • Maintain Equal X Y Dimensions – Whether to force identical Min, Max and Step values for the X and Y dimensions.
    • Block Sizes Table – Dimensions filled from Block Ranges And Steps fields. Read-Only.
    • Sort By – Order the scenarios are displayed on the KNA plot. Select from:
      • Scenario
      • Kriging Efficiency
      • Slope
      • Negative Weights Sum
      • Negative Weights Count
    • Refine Samples – Refine samples to those selected on the KNA plot.
    • Show Summary – Whether to add a summary overlay to the graph, displaying the KNA parameters used to evaluate the given discretisation values.
