3D Viewer

The 3D Viewer can be used to view data in 3D and 2D (sections), and is particularly suited to exploratory data analysis. The data is easy to colour by different fields and to filter data to highlight areas of interest.

There are two types of 3D views:

  1. Context Sensitive 3D View – The default 3D view created automatically on start-up. This view shows the 3D data of the currently selected component in the Project Tree. Only one context sensitive view can be open at a time.
  2. Normal 3D View – Shows specifically selected data. This 3D view allows multiple data sources to be shown (see View Multiple Data Sources with the 3D Viewer).

Note: The Context Sensitive 3D Viewer reflects the component that is selected in the component tree. This means that it shows the data that is associated with the selected component, which may be a subset of the loaded data if a filter is applied for the selected component.
