Show Strings with 3D Data

When viewing 3D data in Supervisor, strings are associated points that make up a set of line segments such as a geological drill hole. Strings' properties are defined in detail in the String tab.

Activity Steps

  1. Display the 3D data.
  2. Select the String tab in the Property Panel.
  3. Select a data point in the 3D Viewer.
  4. Configure the following options as required.
    • String Column – The data column that the string data is related to.
    • Fix – Lock the String table to the current string.

      Tip: You can also fix a string by double-clicking on it in the 3D Viewer.

    • Current – Selected string. The current string changes as you move your mouse over other strings in the 3D Viewer.
    • Show all of string – Whether to show all of the string's data including the samples that fall outside the section.
    • Colour all – Whether to colour the values that are outside the section using the selected colour key. Only available if Show all of string is checked.
    • Show string name – Display string names in the Main Canvas.
    • String Table – Displays all of the data associated with the current string.

      Tip: You many need to expand the Property Panel to see all of the columns in the String table.
