Test Calculated Scheme
This activity outlines the process for testing calculated analyte schemes to ensure that results are being accurately computed after configuration. It is intended to be used once a calculated scheme has been created and configured (see Create Analyte Schemes) and assigned to a client job (see Update an Existing Client Job). This procedure is also useful when modifications to an existing formula are required.
As detailed in Configure Calculated Analyte Schemes, building calculated schemes can be a complex task that may require advanced knowledge of the system. This activity provides a general overview of how to test these calculations and validate the results.
Modifying the formula of a calculated analyte scheme is completed in the Data screen of the Instrument Run that contains the assigned analyte scheme. After testing and validating the results, the updated scheme can be saved, ensuring the correct formula is stored and applied moving forward.
For testing purposes, it is strongly recommended to use the Test Database to perform and verify the calculations before applying them in the Production Database. For more information, see Introduction to the Test Database.
Activity Steps.
- On the Job Book screen, click Instrument Runs.
- Locate and select the Run ID.
- Alternatively, use any AssayNet LIMS page to locate and select the corresponding Batch Code or Job Number.
- Click Working View, then locate and select the Run ID.
-
Click the Data command button.
The Data Capture screen displays, with the top left window displaying any Analyte Scheme Type except the calculated scheme.
-
To modify the edit the formula when required:
-
Select Hide Calculated Schemes, when unchecked all the calculated analyte schemes assigned to this instrument run display.
-
Select the Analyte Scheme and click Analyte.
The Edit Run Analyte screen displays,
Note: Only the fields that are not gray out can be modifying in this screen, if you need to modify a gray out field, see Create Analyte Schemes.
- Follow Configure Calculated Analyte Schemes to modify the formula in the analyte scheme.
- Follow View and Approve Results to update and validate results.
-
- When the correct result is obtain follow step 4 to open the Data Capture screen and steps 5a to open the Edit Run Analyte screen.
Click Set Default.
An AssayNet LIMS message displays that the record was successfully updated.
Click OK.
