Requesting a Repeat Analysis in a Workbook Session
Overview
Once a result is entered, if a problem arises in which another sample portion is required to determine the result, for example, a Workflow Status of Check has arisen due to critical detection limits being exceeded, contamination occurs or the sample is dropped, or the operator suspects problems in preparation, a repeat analysis can be requested in which another portion of the sample is prepared for the analysis. Where sample weights and volumes are taken for the analysis, this means re-weighing and re-digesting the new sample portion for the analysis.
Process
The Request Repeat native workbook command, available via a workbook menu in the CCWKOP—Open Workbook application, is available to request a repeat analysis for selected Workbook cells.
Request a repeat analysis for selected workbook cells
Note: A repeat analysis can be requested on a locked cell.
Where a sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is Analysed, Released, Completed or Check, and the ALLOW_SET_REPEAT application preference is selected, then the sample scheme analyte's Numeric Final Value is cleared and Workflow Status is reset to Repeat. If the sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is Not Started, Listed Not Received, Insufficient Sample, Not Analysed, No Result or Repeat, then no change occurs.
Impact
Effect of Requesting a Repeat Analysis on Weight/Volume Propagation
Where a sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is set to Repeat, when a Numeric Final Result is entered for an analyte with a Code of WEIGHT or VOLUME in a weight/volume workbook session, then the weight or volume is propagated any analytes with a code of WEIGHT or VOLUME in linked sample schemes, and any analyte in the current and linked sample schemes where its Numeric Final Value is empty has its Weight or Volume property set accordingly.
Effect of Requesting a Repeat Analysis when Locating Samples for Batching
Samples can be located for laboratory batching based upon a repeat status.
Effect of Requesting a Repeat Analysis on a QC History Observation
Any update to a QC sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is persisted to the associated QC history observation.
