Ignoring a Critical Detection Limit Failure in a Workbook Session

Overview

Once a result is entered and the system performs detection limit assessment, if the sample scheme analyte's Detection Limit Status is set to Lower Failure or Upper Failure, and the Workflow Status is set to Check, then a critical detection limit is exceeded. This can be overcome by either:

Process

The Ignore DL Failures native workbook command, available via a workbook menu in the CCWKOP—Open Workbook application, is available to ignore a composite QC failure for selected Workbook cells.

Ignore a critical DL failure for selected workbook cells

Where the sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is Check due to the sample scheme analyte's Detection Limit Status being Lower Failure or Upper Failure, and the ALLOW_IGNORE_DL_FAILURES application preference is selected, then the sample scheme analyte's Detection Limit Status is set to Ignore Lower Failure or Ignore Upper Failure, respectively, and the sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is set to Analysed.

Impact

Effect of Ignoring a Critical Detection Limit Failure on a QC History Observation

Any update to a QC sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is persisted to the associated QC history observation.
