Assigning an Instrument to Selected Samples for Batching
Instruments are assigned to sample schemes generally by first associating the scheme with an instrument group.
Then, when a sample scheme is created, its instrument group is inherited from the scheme. During laboratory batching, samples are locatable by instrument group.
After searching for sample schemes using the laboratory batch sample search, selected sample schemes can have an instrument assigned.
- The Maintaining Instruments process is used to configure which instruments are available for analysis.
- The Maintaining Instrument Groups process is used to configure the groups of instruments within the laboratory.
- The Maintaining Schemes configuration process is used to assign instrument groups to schemes, for the analysis of a sample scheme.
After you have viewed the sample counts for schemes or analytes, and selected the combinations of schemes or analytes to be in the laboratory batch, and searched for and selected the samples to be in the laboratory batch, before proceeding with the third step to create the laboratory batch job, you can assign an instrument to the selected samples.
