Maintaining Instrument File Uploads
An instrument file upload is a task that is executed by the system, to move a file from a monitored folder, with an optional script-based conversion into a set format, into the instrument repository, ready for upload into CCLAS.
Instrument File Upload Scope
Instrument file uploads are created at instance-level. An instance of CCLAS can contain multiple instrument file uploads.
Instrument file uploads are scoped by the monitored system folder.
Properties of an Instrument File Upload
An instrument file upload can have:
- A name and description
- A conversion script—Used to convert the instrument file to a set format.
- A flag to indicate whether the original files deposited into the monitored system folder are already converted into the set format.
- An original file path—The EFS file path, as a samba address, to the original instrument file.
- An instrument file path and date the file was uploaded—The uploaded file path is constructed as folder + filename, where folder is specified by the INST_UPLOADER_PATH application preference + the instrument file upload's Instrument File Category, and filename is specified by the instrument file's Upload Instrument File Code + ".DAT".
- A converted file path and the date the file was converted—The converted file path is constructed in the conversion script, as per logic provided in the script.
- Multiple jobs—The jobs associated with the data contained within the instrument file.
Use of Instrument File Uploads
Files written by an instrument are stored in the instrument repository in CCLAS so that they can be reviewed, created, deleted, or converted to a set format for processing at a later stage. The initial file capture from the instrument is managed typically by the CCINSH—Instrument Schedule application, or by some other service that deposits into a system folder.
For each file uploaded, the original file path, the instrument file path of the uploaded file in the instrument repository, and the converted file path are all recorded in the repository.
The conversion script can use the flag that indicates whether the original files deposited into the monitored system folder are already converted into the set format.
Process to Maintain Instrument File Uploads
Instrument file uploads are configured during CCLAS setup. After this, instrument file uploads are maintained by the CCINUP—Instrument Upload application.
