Ignore a Critical Detection Limit Failure on Sample Scheme Analyte Results

Use this activity to ignore a critical detection limit failure on sample scheme analyte results.

Activity Steps

  1. Access the CCVALN—Update Job and Sample Validation application from the main menu or quick launch to display the CCVALN—Update Job and Sample Validation screen.
  2. Enter the relevant search criteria on the Primary Criteria tab and/or the Scoped Criteria tab and click Search Samples.

Samples that match the criteria display in the upper Sample grid. Note that the Sample grid cannot be updated directly.

  3. Select a sample row in the upper Samples grid, for a sample that is validated.

Sample scheme analyte results associated with the sample display in the lower Analytes grid.

  4. On the lower Analytes grid, select the rows where the Workflow Status is CHK (Check) for each sample scheme analyte result that is to have its critical detection limit failure ignored.
  5. Click Ignore DL.

If a sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is Check due to the sample scheme analyte's Detection Limit Status being Lower Failure or Upper Failure, and the ALLOW_IGNORE_DL_FAILURES application preference is checked, then upon ignoring the detection limit failure, the sample scheme analyte's Detection Limit Status is set to Ignore Lower Failure or Ignore Upper Failure, respectively, and the sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is set to Analysed.

The system returns a message to indicate the outcome of the action:
    • Where all selected sample scheme analytes have critical detection limit failures ignored: "Action completed successfully."
    • Where only some of the selected sample scheme analytes have critical detection limit failures ignored: "Action partially completed successfully."
    • Where a selected sample scheme analyte fails to have a critical detection limit failure ignored: "Sample [<Sample_Name>] Scheme [<Scheme_Code>] Analyte {<Analyte_Code>] cannot be ignored."
    • Where no selected sample scheme analytes have critical detection limit failures ignored: "No changes have been made."

  6. Click Submit.

The changes made during the validation session are saved.
