Release Sample Scheme Analyte Results
Use this activity to release sample scheme analyte results. This is required for results that are not released during a Workbook session.
- Conditions for Forcing Manual Release of a Laboratory Batch Result
- Conditions for Forcing Manual Release of a Production Result
- Restrictions on Releasing a Result Manually
Activity Steps
- Access the CCVALN—Update Job and Sample Validation application from the main menu or quick launch to display the CCVALN—Update Job and Sample Validation screen.
- Enter the relevant search criteria on the Primary Criteria tab and/or the Scoped Criteria tab and click Search Samples.
Samples that match the criteria display in the upper Sample grid. Note that the Sample grid cannot be updated directly.
- Select a sample row in the upper Samples grid, for a sample that is validated.
Sample scheme analyte results associated with the sample display in the lower Analytes grid.
- On the lower Analytes grid, select the rows where the Workflow Status is ANA (ANALYSED) for each sample scheme analyte result that is released.
- Click Release.
If a sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is Analysed, and either the section does not have a Release Results User Group defined, or you are a member of that group, as per the restrictions outlined above, then the sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is set to Released.
The system returns a message to indicate the outcome of the release:
• Where all selected sample scheme analytes are successfully released: "Action completed successfully."
• Where only some of the selected sample scheme analytes are successfully released: "Action partially completed successfully."
• Where the user does not have rights to release a selected scheme: "You have no rights to release analytes for scheme {<Scheme_Code> ]."
• Where a selected sample scheme analyte fails to release: "Sample [<Sample_Name>] Scheme [<Scheme_Code>] Analyte {<Analyte_Code>] cannot be released."
• Where no selected sample scheme analytes are successfully released: "No changes have been made." - Click Submit.
The changes made during the validation session are saved.
When a sample scheme analyte is released, the sample scheme analyte's workflow status is set to Released, its released date is stamped and released by s set to the current user.
When a sample scheme analyte's Composite Specification Status, Composite QC Status or Workflow Status is updated, the cascade engine re-evaluates these statuses up the respective production and/or laboratory batch job trees. Refer to Appendix—Cascade Engine.
If the sample scheme analyte's Auto Validate is selected, the sample is a laboratory batch sample, and the LAB_BATCH_MANUAL_VALIDATE_RESULTS application preference is defined and is cleared, and the sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is Released, then the cascade engine sets the Workflow Status to Completed.
