Maintain tracked sample portions in the job, by physical type

To search for tracked sample portions of a job:

  1. Open a tracked job to display the SAMPLETRACK—Job Form.

  2. Select the Sample tab.

  3. Where a query form is presented in the bottom of the right-hand grid, then enter criteria and click the Query button to filter the content returned to the grid.

  4. To toggle the sorting of a column by ascending or descending order, click the column header.

To add a sample portion from the job to sample tracking:

  1. Click New, or right-click and select New, to display the SAMPLETRACK—AddSample Form.

  2. Select the General tab.

  3. Select the Location, Physical type, Action and Container. The physical type denotes the portion type of the selected samples.

  4. Select the Sample types of the selected samples to be tracked. The LIMS may be configured to default selected sample types, but the selection can be updated, as required.

  5. Enter relevant Notes for the sample tracking.

  6. The Date located and Staff code default to the current date-time and your staff code, respectively. Where the LIMS is configured to allow for the update of these fields, select another date-time or staff member, as required.

  7. Where a query form is presented in the bottom of the grid, then enter criteria and click the Query button to filter the samples in the job that are not yet tracked for the selected Physical type.

  8. Check the check box next to one or more samples to add them to sample tracking, for the selected Physical type.

  9. Where the LIMS is configured with a custom form for the adding of sample portion to sample tracking, select the User fields tab to display the form, and interact with it, as required.

  10. Click OK to close the form and add the selected samples to sample tracking, for the selected Physical type, or click Cancel to close the form and not proceed.

To review, update or delete the tracking details for a sample portion:

  1. From the grid, to change the location, container or sample handling action for one or more sample portions:

    1. Select one or more sample portions using the Ctrl and Shift keys.

    2. Right-click and select Change location, Change container, or Change action, as required, to open the Save as form.

    3. Select the To code.

    4. Click OK to close the form and apply the location, container or action, respectively, to the selected sample portions, or click Cancel to close the form and not proceed.

  2. Via the sample portion form:

    1. Double-click a sample portion, or right-click and select Open, to display the SAMPLETRACK—Sample Form.

    2. Select a different Location, Container and Action, as required.

    3. Enter relevant Notes for the sample portion's sample tracking.

    4. The Date located and Staff code default to the current date-time and your staff code, respectively. Select another date-time or staff member, as required.

    5. Where the LIMS is configured with a custom form for the sample portion's sample tracking, click User screen to display the form, and interact with it, as required.

    6. Click Save to save the changes.

    7. Click Close to close the form.
