Maintain User-Defined Groups

A user-defined group is an optional way to group holes for reporting purposes. For example, you can generate a dip sheet for a user-defined group. The holes in a user-defined group can be in different drill patterns. A hole can be in multiple user-defined groups. See also Patterns and Pattern Properties.

To create a user-defined group:

  1. Select the Measure module.
  2. Right-click a node in the DataBlast Items Tree and select Add User Defined Group from the menu.

    The User-Defined Group screen displays.

  3. Enter a Name for the user-defined group. Default: Concatenation of U_ and the currently displayed active pattern, if applicable.
  4. Click OK.

    The user-defined group displays in the Viewport and is saved automatically.

To create a user-defined group from selected holes:

  1. Select the Measure module.
  2. Select one or more drill patterns in the DataBlast Items Tree.
  3. Select holes as required. See Select Objects in the Viewport.
  4. Right-click a node in the DataBlast Items Tree and select Add User Defined Group from the menu.

    A question about including the selected holes in the new user-defined group displays.

  5. Click Yes.

    The User Defined Group screen displays.

  6. Enter a Name for the user-defined group. Default: Concatenation of U_ and the currently displayed active pattern.
  7. Click OK.

    The user-defined group displays in the Viewport and is saved automatically.

To add holes to a user-defined group:

  1. Select the Measure module.
  2. Select the user-defined group in the DataBlast Items Tree.
  3. Ensure that the user-defined group is the active pattern. See Make a Pattern Active.
  4. Select one or more drill patterns in the DataBlast Items Tree.
  5. Select holes as required.
  6. On the Measure Ribbon Menu, click Add Holes.
  7. Click Save Changes.

To remove holes from a user-defined group:

  1. Select the Measure module.
  2. Select the user-defined group in the DataBlast Items Tree.
  3. Ensure that the user-defined group is the active pattern.
  4. Select holes as required.
  5. On the Measure ribbon menu, click Remove Holes.
  6. Click Save Changes.

To delete a user-defined group:

  1. Select the Design module.
  2. Right-click the user-defined group in the DataBlast Items Tree and select Delete Selected User-Defined Group from the menu.

    A confirmation message displays.

  3. Click OK.

    The deletion is saved automatically.
