Reapply Template Task
To access this function:
-
Work Package ribbon >> Reapply Template Task >> From Workpackage.
-
Work Package ribbon >> Reapply Template Task >> From Repository.
Reapply Template Task is used to update an existing task so it matches a template again, without deleting and recreating the task.
This command is useful when a task was originally created from a template and you need to refresh it after changes to the source template or after manual changes to the task. This can help you keep schedules aligned with approved task definitions and reduce manual rework.
There are two possible ways to reapply template task information, depending on which source of data you intend to use.
From Workpackage
In this scenario, you reapply the template task using the template information associated with the task’s Work Package. That is, the information currently held on the Generate Work Packages/Tasks screen.
From Repository
Reapply the template task using the template managed by the Template Task Repository screen.
Activity steps:
-
Use the Generate Work Packages/Tasks or Template Task Repository screen to adjust the relevant settings.
-
Use the Reapply Template Task >> From Workpackage or >> From Repository command to update the currently selected task(s).
