Application Settings

To access this screen:

  • File ribbon >> Application Settings.

Change global settings that apply to the DTS application, irrespective of the schedule(s) loaded.

Note: These are also referred to as "backstage" settings throughout th

General Settings

  • New schedule window inherits settings from current schedule window.

    • If checked, the current window settings are inherited by subsequent schedule windows.

    • If unchecked, new windows display default settings.

  • New pivot table window inherits settings from current pivot table window.

  • New dashboard window inherits settings from current dashboard window.

  • Default dependency calendar

    • Choose from either Predecessor Task, Successor Task or (to use default project settings) <Project>.

  • Haulage distance unit

    • The default unit represented by haulage distance values.

  • Haulage time unit

    • The default time unit used to represent time for haulage. The combination of haulage distance and time represents the speed convention used in haulage calculations.

  • Reset Form Sizes and Positions

    • Click to remove all custom screen sizes and set default dimensions.

EPS Tabs Settings

  • Bar chart view tabs show...

    • None—No selection tabs are shown below the bar chart view.

    • Columns—Display all column (table) layouts below the bar chart view, as shown in the picture below.

    • Options—Display all chart layouts below the bar chart view, as shown in the picture below.

  • Cross tab view tabs show...

    • See above.

  • Resource bar chart view tabs show...

    • See above.

EPServer Settings

These options are only relevant if you are using EPServer.

  • EPServer auto refresh seconds

    • If checked, define the interval (in seconds) between EPS and EPServer data synchronisation checks in a multi-user environment.

  • EPServer check schedule changes seconds

    • As above, but set the delay between checks for schedule changes.

  • Items without permissions

    • In a multi-user environment, to protect against simultaneous or potentially damaging data changes, some items in a schedule are locked.

      Set the No Permission Bar Color and No Permission Cell Font Color to decide how these items appear to you.

Macros Settings

  • Always enable system macros

    • This option only has an effect if system macros exist. Assuming you do have one or more system macros set up, if this option is disabled, a security warning message will appear below the DTS ribbon informing you that system macros have been disabled. At that point you have the option of enabling these macros:

      If checked, this warning will not appear.

  • Macro Email Recipients

    • Enter one or more email addresses to receive error reports (see below).

  • Send Error Reports

    • Define a date from (From Date - To Date) within which macro error reports are sent to the email recipients listed above. This can be a good way to work with Datamine to resolve program issues.

      Click Send to transmit error reports collated between the two dates, or Delete Reports to clear reports from the system.

Default Field Formats

Choose, for each system field, the default Alignment and number Format used to record data.

To reset a field to its 'factory default', select the corresponding check box(es) on the left and click Reset at the bottom of the table.

Email

  • User Information

    • Your Name and Email address. Keep this up to date to help Datamine support you.

  • Server Information

    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP)—The address of your email server. This must be correctly configured if error logs are to be transmitted to Datamine for support purposes.

    • Outgoing server (SMTP) port number—The port used for email traffic in your organisation.

    • Encryption—The encryption method used for port traffic. Setting this to Auto means DTS attempts to work out which encryption method is in use, and configures the traffic format accordingly.

  • Login Information

    • Server requires authentication—check if the email server requires account authentication. Typically, this is the case.

    • User Name/Email Address—Server credentials for access.

    • Password—The password for the above account credentials.

    • DTS
