Resource/Assignment Table

To access this screen:

  • Right-click a resource on the left of the Crosstab Resource Bar Chart display and select Columns.

Define one or more table layouts, or select one to apply to the current view.

For each table layout, specify the columns you want to see by adding them to the data grid. A row in the data grid is equivalent to a column in the Resource/Assignment table.

If a layout already exists, apply it by selecting it on the left and clicking OK.

You can reorder the table rows by selecting a table row (any cell) and using the up and down arrows to adjust the row order.

To define a new table layout:

  1. Display the Resource/Assignment screen.

  2. Click New.

Tip: Alternatively, click the browse button on the far right of the screen to display the Select Fields screen. From there, pick a field and it appears below the currently selected field when you click Insert. See Select Fields.

  3. Define the parameters for the new layout:

    • Lock – Check to lock the column in the resource/assignment table. The column remains fixed and visible whilst you scroll through the resource/assignment display.

Note: When you lock a column, all columns to the left of the selected column (or above the selected column in the data grid) are also locked.

    • Field – This list displays all resource-related fields, both system as well as user-defined fields, in alphabetical order.

Tip: To quickly jump to a field name, start typing the name. The list is positioned at the field name that contains the value that you type. You can also create a new table row and select a field at the same time using the ellipsis (...) button. See Select Fields.

    • Title – Enter your own title for this column. This value is used for display purposes only.

Note: If you supply a title, the entered value overrides the default column name. Leave this field blank to display the default column name in the resource/assignment table.

    • Width – Specify the width of the column in the resource/assignment table.

Note: The column width can also be changed directly in the resource/assignment table by dragging the column separator in the header area left or right.

    • Alignment – Specify the alignment of the value in the column.

Note: The alignment does not apply to the Name column, which is always left-aligned.

    • Format – See Field Formats.

  4. Click OK to save your changes and close the screen.

To create a copy of the current layout:

  1. Display the Resource/Assignment screen.
