Using a cloud license (RLM)

Isatis.neo supports cloud-based licensing using the Reprise License Manager (RLM). In this case, the license is hosted on a remote server managed by Geovariances and delivered over the internet.

Installing the cloud license file

To enable cloud licensing, you must place the cloud.lic file (provided by our team) into the installation’s license directory:

Windows:

C:\Program Files\Geovariances\Isatis.neo\license

Linux:

/apps/isatis.neo/license

You can copy the file manually or use the in-app option Install a License File from the registration window.

Note: Saving the file requires administrator rights. If using the in-app method, launch Isatis.neo as Administrator.

Authentication (if required)

Some cloud servers are protected with user authentication. In that case, you must be listed as an authorized user to access the license pool.

You can log in using your email address and password. Passwords can be updated through the Geovariances website.

Note: The authentication option is only available from version 2023.04 of Isatis.neo onward. Older versions do not support user login to access cloud servers.

Note: Not all cloud servers have authentication enabled, but it is progressively being enforced on all new installations.

Note: Any change to the server configuration (e.g. adding a user or updating a password) may take up to 2 hours to propagate. Please wait before retrying if access is temporarily denied after such a change.

Connectivity requirements

  • An active internet connection is required at all times while using a cloud license.
  • The application connects to a remote license server via a dedicated TCP port.
  • This port is defined in the cloud.lic file provided with your license. Please make sure this port is open in your firewall or proxy settings to allow communication with the cloud server.

License not available?

If you see a License not available message when launching the application, please refer to the Licensing issues section. It may indicate a network issue or that all cloud licenses are currently in use.
