Set the Evaluation Method

In MSO, the Report screen lets you define how final optimization results are evaluated and reported, balancing between performance and detail.

Activity steps

  1. Create an MSO scenario and define a block model.

  2. Configure other settings as required.

  3. Display the Report screen.

  4. Expand the Evaluation Method control group.

  5. Choose a Report Type:

    • Total – Generate a single-line summary of the entire optimization run. Useful for high-level comparisons between scenarios.

    • Summary – Aggregate stope data based on the reporting fields (for example, REGION, RESTYPE). Ideal for domain-level reporting.

    • All – Output detailed results for every individual stope. Recommended when you need full granularity or are exporting data to external systems.

  6. Select an Evaluation Method. This determines the level of numerical precision and amount of report detail. It includes two components: Run Precision and Report Detail.

    • Run Precision - Approximate – Use voxel-based approximations for faster calculation. Suitable for early-stage testing or large models.

    • Run Precision – Exact – Use exact stope geometry for highly accurate evaluations. Recommended for final scenario selection or reporting.

    • Report Precision – Approximate – Output only essential stope and scenario metrics. Keeps reports lightweight.

    • Report Precision – Exact – Include expanded metrics, such as dilution breakdowns, ore/waste ratios, and spatial information. Suitable for auditing or technical reviews.

  7. Save your settings.
