Enter Sample Data for a Discrete Unit Package Group

This activity presumes that the packing process flow used to create the packages has an assigned sample template. See Assign a Sample Template to a Material Flow.

Security Note: You need the Allow sample maintenance security right in the Samples domain security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

1. Open the Package Group (DU).
2. Select the Samples tab.

   Samples associated with packages in the package group or its child package groups display with a grey background colour, even if the samples do not match the search criteria.

3. To search for samples:
   1. Complete the following fields as required.
      • Start Date
      • End Date
      • Process Flow—Select from the material flows defined on the Supply Chain panel of the Solution Explorer.
      • Sampling Template—Select from the sample templates defined for the selected material flow.
   2. Click Refresh.
4. To create a sample:
   1. Right-click in the Samples table and select Add Sample from the menu.

      The Sample displays.

      Note: If the Sample status definition exists, the sample is assigned the initial status. This status definition controls whether the sample is editable and selectable. See Status Definitions and View or Change Sample Status.

   2. Edit the sample as required. See Create a Sample.
5. Select the sample in the Samples table.
6. Update the Analyte Value for each analyte if required.
7. Check Selected for the packages or package groups in the Discrete Units table for which the sample is applicable.
8. Click Save.
