Create a 3D Stockpile

Ideally, a 3D stockpile should exist within a stock location or stockyard, or within a stockpile category under any of these locations.

Security Note: You need the following security right permissions for this activity:

  • Allow 3D maintenance in the 3D user group security group
  • Allow stockpile maintenance in the Stockpiles domain security group

Activity Steps

  1. Select the Supply Chain panel in the Solution Explorer.
  2. Expand the Supply Chain » Business Areas node.
  3. Right-click the stock location or stockpile category and select New » 3D Stockpile from the menu.

    The 3D Stockpile displays.

  4. Update the stockpile Name if required.
  5. Select the Current State tab.
  6. Enter the Opening Date. You cannot make transactions to or from the stockpile before the opening date.
  7. Update the following fields as required.
    • UOM—Select from the Mass units defined in the Unit Conversion Editor. Default: The UOM of the stock location.
    • Expected Total Quantity
    • Planned Quantity
    • Closing Date—You cannot make transactions to or from the stockpile after the closing date.
    • Default Master Blend—Select from the blends that have been calculated for and assigned to the stockpile. See Calculated Blends.
    • Intended Organisation—Select from the organisations and companies defined on the Organisations panel of the Solution Explorer.
    • Status—Select from the Stockpile Status list items defined in the List Editor.
  8. To specify quantities to be displayed on the Stockpile Balance Chart, complete the following fields.
    • Minimum Quantity
    • Target Quantity
    • Maximum Quantity
  9. Select the Details tab.
  10. Select whether to Retain State On Negative Batches. The state includes contributor data and analyte quality. Batches can go negative when a batch is partially reclaimed from the model but the tonnage reclaimed is more than the original batch contained. Default: Unchecked.
  11. Click Save.
  12. Configure the Transactions Between Stockpile Full States if required.
  13. Specify the Geometry of a 3D Stockpile
  14. Specify the Stacker and Reclaimer for a 3D Stockpile
  15. Override the Defaults for the 3D Transaction Viewer for a 3D Stockpile if required.
