View Traceability Using the Traceability Explorer

Note: For stockpile traceability using the Movements method, the recommended option is to use the Traceability tab on the stockpile screen instead of the Traceability Explorer. See View Traceability for a Stockpile.

Security Note: You need the Allow the user to view the Traceability Explorer security right in the Menu user group security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Traceability Explorer.
  2. Enter the following search criteria as required.
    • Date Range—Limit the search to objects with transaction dates in the selected date range. Only objects with transactions are returned. The date selector has the following options:
      • Month—Select a single month of a selected calendar year.
      • Quarter—Select a single quarter of a selected calendar year.
      • Year—Select a single calendar year.
      • Date Range—Specify any start and end date. Click the X icon next to the Start Date or End Date field to clear that date only. Default: The current month.
      • Today—Set the date range to the current date.
      • Clear—Ignore the date range as a search criterion.

The selected Date Range is used as the default Date Range in the traceability view. If the Date Range is cleared or does not contain a valid date selection, MineMarket uses default dates for the selected object type:

      • For stockpiles, the date range is from the stockpile Opening Date to the current date.
      • For despatches, the date range is from the despatch Activated Date (earliest date on the first route point) to Deactivated Date (latest date on the last route point).
      • For despatch orders, the date range is from the Activated Date to the Deactivated Date of the first available despatch associated with the despatch order.
    • Type—Select from Despatch, Despatch Order, Service Trip, Shipment, Stockpile, Train or Truck Despatch.
    • Analyte Group—Select from the analyte groups defined on the Quality panel of the Solution Explorer or Show All Analytes With Values.
    • Enter Search Text to search by object name. Text searches are case-sensitive with SQL databases with a case-sensitive collation and with all Oracle databases.
  3. Click Search or press F3.

The Results table displays search results with columns for applicable analyte data. Use the scroll bar at the bottom of the pane or drag the slider icon between the sections to view the full table.

Note: You can save search criteria as a search profile. Search profiles for the Traceability Explorer include all criteria except a selected Date Range. See Use Saved Search Profiles in MineMarket Explorers and Billboards.

  4. Use one of the following methods to view traceability for an object:
    1. To view traceability at the bottom of the explorer screen, click the magnifying glass icon or right-click the object row in the Results table and select View Traceability from the menu.

The Criteria field group collapses and traceability for the selected object displays at the bottom of the screen.

    2. To view traceability in a new tab, click the ellipsis (...) icon or double-click the row anywhere except its hyperlinked name.

The selected object's traceability displays in a new tab.

  5. Update the Traceability View if required. Default: As specified on the Options screen. See Configure the Traceability Display.
  6. If the Traceability View is Diagram:
    1. Select the Date Range. Default: The Date Range selected in the Traceability Explorer search criteria.
    2. Select whether to Show Sources or Show Destinations.
    3. Select a UOM from the Mass units defined in the Unit Conversion Editor to control the unit used in the traceability display. If no value is selected, MineMarket uses the UOM from the Details field group on the Current State tab of the mine source or stockpile, or the Default UOM from the despatch template for despatches. Changing the traceability UOM does not affect the UOM on the Current State tab or the despatch template. A selected value is saved and applied the next time you view the object's traceability.
    4. Select an Analyte Group to display analyte values for selected diagram nodes if required. Select from the analyte groups defined on the Quality panel of the Solution Explorer.
    5. Select the Method from Closing Balance and Movements (that is, transactions). Default: Closing Balance for stockpiles; Movements for despatches.
    6. Select a Despatch Order to limit the display if required.
  7. If the Traceability View is Sankey:
    4. Select the Method from Closing Balance and Movements (that is, transactions). Default: Closing Balance for stockpiles; Movements for despatches.
  8. If the Traceability View is Tree Grid:
    1. Select the Date Range. Default: The Date Range selected in the Traceability Explorer search criteria.
    2. Select whether to Show Sources or Show Destinations.
    3. Select whether to Show Analytes. If checked, a column displays for each analyte that has quality data.
    4. Select a UOM from the Mass units defined in the Unit Conversion Editor to control the unit used in the Mass column.
    5. If Show Analytes is checked, select whether to Show Analyte Content. If checked, a column displays for each analyte that has Show Content Basis checked in the Analyte Definition Editor. Disabled if no analytes are configured to show content basis.
    6. Select whether to Show Stockpile Paths. If unchecked, only the stockpile name displays.
    7. Select an Analyte Group to limit the display if required. Select from the analyte groups defined on the Quality panel of the Solution Explorer.
    8. Select a Contributor Group to limit the display if required. Select from the contributor groups defined on the Quality panel of the Solution Explorer.
    9. Edit the Maximum Query Levels if required. If left blank, all levels of traceability data display.
    10. Select despatch methods to Stop at Despatches if required. For Show Sources, limits the display to the traceability data since the selected despatch method(s). For Show Destinations, limits the display to the traceability data up to the selected despatch method(s). Select from Direct, Service Trip, Shipment, Train and Truck Despatch.
  9. Click Refresh.

The traceability display is interactive. The available actions depend on the selected view.

  10. Explore traceability using the following actions in each view:
    • Diagram—Click the expand (+) icon on a node to display its sources or destinations. If an Analyte Group is selected, click a node to display its analyte values in the section to the left of the diagram. Right-click the diagram and select Collapse All from the menu to collapse all expanded nodes. Hover over a source or destination to display its quality or balance as a tooltip. Double-click a diagram icon to open the associated object. Hold down the Ctrl key while rotating the mouse wheel to zoom in and out.
    • Sankey—Displays material flow as colour-coded links between source and destination nodes. Thicker links indicate larger quantities, and each link is labelled with the mass moved. Hold down the Ctrl key while rotating the mouse wheel to zoom in and out.
    • Tree Grid—Expand or collapse nodes in the tree to navigate the traceability hierarchy. Right-click a row and select Expand All or Collapse All from the menu to expand or collapse child nodes, or select Open from the menu to open the source or destination object.
