Edit the Supply and Demand Plan Whiteboard

The product amounts allocated to shipments can be edited to compare the impact on available stocks per planning period. The penalties or bonuses can also be calculated for different scenarios.

The configuration determines which train operators display for allocating product amounts.

Shipments can be flagged as being fulfilled.

Comments can be added to any cell except for header cells.

Security Note: You need the Allow Supply and Demand Plan Execution security right in the Planning domain security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the SD Plan.
  2. Select the Whiteboard tab.
  3. To enter product quantities for a shipment, perform one of the following steps:
    1. Use the Transport Operator Quantity pop-up table:
      1. Right-click a cell in a Product column and select Enter Transport Operator Quantity from the menu.

The Transport Operator Quantity pop-up table displays with the applicable transport operators for the product.

Note: Resize the pop-up table by dragging the left or bottom sides.

      2. Enter the Number of Deliveries to allocate to the transport operator for the shipment.

Only whole numbers can be entered in the Transport Operator Quantity pop-up table. The shortcut code (if specified for the transport operator) cannot be used.

The Total Quantity, which is the number of deliveries multiplied by the default delivery quantity, updates in the pop-up table.

      3. Click OK.
    2. Enter a value in the Product column using the Shortcut Code for the preferred train operator. See Configure a Supply and Demand Plan Train Operator.
    3. Enter a numerical tonnage value in the Product column.

Note: If a numerical tonnage value is entered directly in the Product column, it will not be assigned to a train operator.

When a product quantity is edited, MineMarket updates the following Whiteboard data:

    • Outstanding supply quantity for the shipment—Viewable as a tooltip on cells in the Required Quantity column
    • Quality for the shipment—Calculated as a weighted average grade (WAG) based on the forecast quality of all products in the shipment
    • Total Supplied for the planning period and the product
    • Penalty/Bonus for the shipment—Bonuses are positive values and penalties are negative values. The penalty/bonus contract charges specified within the contract are used to calculate the penalty or bonus for the scheduled shipment. If no penalty/bonus contract charges have been specified, the value displayed will be zero. The amount is in the primary currency specified in the contract.
    • Total Penalty/Bonus for the planning period
    • Opening Stocks for subsequent planning periods
  4. To flag a shipment as being fulfilled, right-click the shipment and select Is Fulfilled from the menu.

Note: This will remove the shipment from the Whiteboard.

  5. To add a comment to a cell:
    1. Right-click a cell that is not in the header row and select Add Comment from the menu.
    2. Enter the comment.
    3. Click another cell to minimise the comment box.

Note: A minimised comment displays as a coloured triangle in the top-right corner of the cell. To view the comment, hover the mouse pointer over the triangle.

  6. To edit a cell comment:
    1. Right-click a cell with a minimised comment and select Edit Comment from the menu.
    2. Edit the comment.
  7. Click Save.
