Change the Vessel Assigned to a Shipment

This activity is applicable to shipments that already have loading or unloading information. In this activity, '(un)loading information' refers to:

  • Loading or unloading plans
  • Opening surveys

Note: Changing the vessel of a shipment with an opening survey is only possible if the new vessel has the same structure as the original vessel. If you need to change the vessel to one with a different structure, delete the opening surveys first.

  • Bulk transactions
  • Discrete unit (DU) movements
  • Certificates
  • Delays

Changing the vessel assigned to a shipment before (un)loading is possible for all shipments.

Security Note: You need the following security rights for this activity:

  • Allow shipment maintenance security right in the Shipments domain security rights group (during shipment editing)
  • Allow the user to change the vessel after shipment loading security right in the Shipments domain security rights group

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Shipment.
  2. Update the Vessel/Ship. Select from the vessels defined on the Transport panel of the Solution Explorer.

MineMarket creates a vessel nomination for the shipment. See Accept or Reject Vessel Nominations.

If the new vessel has the same structure of holds and hatches as the original vessel, any (un)loading information is recreated for the matching holds and hatches of the new vessel.

If the new vessel has only one hatch (for bulk) or one hold (for DU), all (un)loading information is recreated for that hatch or hold.

If the new vessel has a different structure, the Vessel Structure Mapping screen displays.

  3. If mapping is required:
    1. For each original hatch, select the new Vessel Hatch.
    2. Click OK.
  4. Click Save.

Note: When you save the shipment, MineMarket validates whether the vessel is assigned to any other shipment. A vessel cannot be assigned to multiple shipments with overlapping active periods (that is, from the earliest date at the first route point to the latest date at the last route point).
