Link a Despatch Order Manually
This activity creates a one-off link between two despatch orders (DOs). This linking does not create contract link configuration in the contract product. See Linked Contracts.
Security Note: You need the Allow the user to maintain despatch orders security right in the Contracts domain security rights group for this activity.
Activity Steps
- Open the source Despatch Order that is to be the source despatch order of the link.
The source DO for the manual link:
- Can be a child despatch order (CDO), but care must be taken to ensure this makes business sense
- Cannot be a parent despatch order (PDO)
- Can be a source DO
- Can be a linked DO (which creates a chain of linked DOs)
- Cannot be assigned to a despatch
- Cannot already be invoiced
- Select the Linked Despatch Orders tab.
- Right-click in the Linked Despatch Orders table and select Link A Despatch Order from the menu.
The Despatch Order Search screen displays.
- To base the link settings on a contract link template, select the Link Template from the contract link templates defined on the Organisations panel of the Solution Explorer. See Contract Link Templates.
- To apply a date range to the search, check Include Date Range and enter the Start Date and End Date. The search is limited by the Planned Despatch Date of the despatch orders.
- Enter the following search criteria as required.
- Organisations—Select from the organisations and companies defined on the Organisations panel of the Solution Explorer.
- Companies—Select from the internal companies defined on the Organisations panel of the Solution Explorer.
- Products—Select from the products and brands defined on the Material panel of the Solution Explorer.
- Search By—Object type to match if entering a Search Text. Select from Despatch Order, Contract, Organisation, Product or DO Status. Text searches are case-sensitive with SQL databases with a case-sensitive collation and with all Oracle databases.
- Parent DOs / Child DOs—Whether to search for parent despatch orders (PDOs) or for child despatch orders (CDOs). If set to PDOs, the search results include standard despatch orders (DOs), split parent despatch orders (SPDOs) and consignment parent despatch orders (CPDOs). If set to CDOs, the search results include CDOs of aggregated parent despatch orders (APDOs) and CDOs of CPDOs. See Parent and Child Despatch Orders.
Note: Linking a PDO manually does not create links for any CDOs or vice versa.
- Click Search or press F3.
The linked DO for the manual link:
