Specify a Preferred Blend for a Despatch Order

If a despatch order (DO) is created for a quota, the DO inherits the preferred blend specified for the quota (if specified).

If a DO is duplicated, the new DO inherits the preferred blend of the original DO. However, if the original DO does not have a preferred blend, the new DO inherits the preferred blend for the quota (if specified).

Production and Demand Planning may include or exclude DOs based on whether the DOs have a preferred blend.

Security Note: You need the Allow the user to maintain despatch orders security right in the Contracts domain security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

1. Open the Despatch Order.

   Note: You can also specify the preferred blend via the Despatch Orders node in the Sales Contract or Purchase Contract.

2. Select the Preferred Blends tab.
3. To add a product or brand:
   1. Right-click in the Preferred Blends table and select New from the menu.
   2. Select the Product from the products and brands defined on the Material panel of the Solution Explorer.

      Note: The selected product or brand:

      • Must exist in the Allowed Transformations for the Product or Brand
        
      • Cannot be the contract product of the quota (even though that product displays as the default product when adding a product to the preferred blend)
   3. Enter the Percentage of the product or brand to be used in the blend.
4. Ensure that the total percentage equals 100%.
5. Click Save.
