Trading
Some companies purchase material with the intention of selling it for a profit.
In MineMarket, trades can be created for a quantity of material in a purchase despatch order and a sales despatch order. A full profit and loss (P&L) snapshot for the trade includes revenue, cost and hedging line items.
Sets of mark-to-market terms provide an estimate of the potential market price of despatch orders before they are allocated to trades with other despatch orders. A full P&L snapshot is also available for mark-to-market trades.
Depending on the trading settings, historical P&L data can be saved. See Specify Trading Settings. If historical data is available, P&L statements also display mark-to-market (MTM) P&L values for each line item. The MTM P&L is the difference between the current total P&L and the previous total P&L.
The Trade Explorer displays the total P&L and MTM P&L (if available) for each trade. If historical data is available, the total P&L and MTM P&L can be displayed for every day in a selected date range.
Profit and loss reports can be created to summarise trade profit and loss at a specific point in time; for example, each month. Each report can have different parameters, for example, to summarise profit and loss for a district.
