Configure a Scheduled Event Mailbox Poll Task

Use a mailbox poll task to poll a specified email account so that the email attachments or the message bodies can be saved to a specified folder on a schedule.

Activity Steps

  1. In the Configuration Explorer, expand the Tasks node.
  2. Expand the required task group node.
  3. Right-click the Scheduled Events node and select New Mailbox Poll Task from the menu.
  4. Double-click the mailbox poll task node.

  5. Complete the fields in the Scheduled Event Settings field group. (See Managing Scheduled Events for a description of these fields.)
  6. Configure Email Settings.
  7. In the Mailboxes field group, complete the following fields.
    • Source Mailbox—Name of the source mailbox for messages.
    • Processed Mailbox—Name of the mailbox to which to move messages that have been successfully processed.
    • Error Mailbox—Name of the mailbox to which to move messages that had an error during processing.

    Note: For top-level folders, enter only the folder name; for example, Source. For subfolders, enter the full folder path; for example, Inbox/Integration/Source. The folder names are not case-sensitive.

  8. In the Message Body Settings field group:
    1. Select whether to Save Message Body—Whether to save the message body of the email to the Message Body Save Path folder.
    2. If Save Message Body is checked, complete the following fields.
      • Override Message Body—Whether to override files in the Message Body Save Path folder when new files with the same names are saved.
      • Message Body Save Path—The folder path to which to save the message body.
      • Message Body Save Type—Select the format of the email from Text or HTML.
      • Prepend Subject To File Name—Whether to prepend the email subject to the file name when the message body is saved.
      • Prepend GUID To File Name—Whether to prepend the GUID to the file name when the message body is saved. This ensures that the file name is unique
  9. In the Attachment Settings field group:
    1. Select whether to Save Attachments to the Attachment Save Path folder.
    2. If Save Attachments is checked, complete the following fields.
      • Override Attachments—Whether to override files in the Attachment Save Path folder when new files with the same names are saved.
      • Append Subject To File Name—Whether to append the email subject to the file name when the attachment is saved.
      • Append GUID To File Name—Whether to append the GUID to the file name when the attachment is saved. This ensures that the file name is unique.
      • Attachment Save Path—The folder path to which to save the attachment.
  10. Click Test Read Email.
  11. Click Save.
