Registering a License Key

The Register License Key dialog is the only tool capable of registering a Datamine License key, and can be opened from several places:

From a warning dialog

When you first start software that has not yet been registered, either a "No Licenses Found" dialog or a "Demonstration License Notice" is displayed, depending upon the software:

  1. To register the software, click on the More... button and select Register License Key...

  2. If you have a license key, you may type this in directly. Alternatively, use the Registration Wizard.

note.gif (1017 bytes) If you received your key electronically, you may copy it to your clipboard. If it is a valid key, theRegister License Keydialog will automatically place it in the edit box.
  1. If a Department Network Server is used, you must register a Network License Server key first.

Using the License Manager

  1. In the main menu, select License |Register License Key...

  2. Type the License key into the Register License Keydialog, and click OK.

License Services is used to license numerous products, or instances of a single product, using a single license key. It can be used in either Desktop or Network modes in order to meet your licensing requirements.

It is strongly recommended that license keys are tied to a hard disk drive (HD Serial Number), or to a dongle number (preferable).
