Floating Licenses

Understanding floating licenses

Floating Licenses

Any license which is registered on a Network License Server, and not grouped or checked-out is described as a floating license.
These can be accessed by more than one user: the first user to start the licensed program locks the license, preventing it from being used by another user until the program is closed. The license then becomes available again.
