Prototype Model Properties

Note: This topic relates to the Dynamic Modelling Properties control bar.

To display this Properties control bar:

The following properties are available for a prototype model:

Properties for Extents
Name The label used to identify the task of the Dynamic Modelling workflow. For this task type, the value is always Extents.
Properties for [Prototype Mode Item Name]
Name

The name of the prototype model object used as the starting point for Dynamic Modelling.

If created by the Dynamic Modelling framework (based on the loaded drillholes), this is Prototype Model by default, but can be edited (the new name will be used on the next modelling run).

Status

The latest status of the object, which can either be:

  • Succeeded

  • Succeeded with warnings

  • Waiting

  • Failed

For more information on task statuses, see Process the Workflow.

Symbolic Name

The label used to identify the data object associated with the task in a macro.

You can edit this value to match the expected IN value of your automation macro. See Integrate Modelling Macros.

Enabled

If checked, the workflow item is processed when the workflow is processed.

If unchecked, the task item is ignored during workflow processing.

Locked

If checked, the task item is locked during processing.

If unchecked, the task item is processed as expected during processing (depending on whether it is enabled or not - see above).

See Process the Workflow.

ObjectGUID

An internal identifier representing the data object associated with the task. Read-only.

Type The type of extents data item. For a prototype model, this is Proto.
Automatic from drillholes

If checked, the prototype is generated based on the hull of the loaded drillholes object used for modelling, and the following properties become active.

If unchecked, another data object is used as the bounding prototype cuboid for dynamically modelled data.

See Configure Modelling Extents

If Automatic from drillholes is checked, the following properties are available:
Extension distance

The distance in world units beyond the hull of the loaded drillholes object cuboid that data is modelled.

For example, if world units are meters, and a value of 20 is used, the modelling cuboid is larger than the hull of the drillholes by 20 meters in all (6) directions).

X/Y/Z Block size The size of the parent cells used to construct the block model later in the workflow. Each axis can have a different dimension.
Rotation mode

Rotation mode can either be:

  • Fixed – You define how the model is rotated (if at all) by setting a Rotation angle for each rotation (see below).

  • Automatic 2D – Automatically rotate the prototype around a single axis to match the general directional trend of the input drillholes. The extent of rotation appears as Rotation angle 1, below.

  • Automatic 3D – Automatically rotate the model around two axes to align the prototype with the drillhole data hull. All Rotation angle fields can be affected with this option.

Rotation angle 1/2/3

If a Fixed Rotation mode is selected, these fields are editable, otherwise, they are automatically calculated when the prototype model is generated.

These fields represent the three rotations performed to orient the rotated prototype, using a Z-X-Z rotation convention.

Use reference point

If checked, you can set your own prototype origin in 3D and the position of the proto model is snapped to align with the coordinates below. In essence, this allows cell coordinates to align with the reference point.

If unchecked, no reference point is set for the prototype model and no positional snapping occurs.

Reference X/Y/Z If Use reference point (see above) is checked, set the coordinates for the prototype model reference point.
