Description
Set view direction/position (Design window) or plane location/orientation (3D window) based on a selected point and orientation.
The way this command behaves between the Design and 3D windows is important; the Design window does not support a non-orthogonal plane for digitizing/editing, whereas in 3D you can digitize to any previously defined section. As such, in the 3D window, this command will create a new section plane and will not affect the view direction - setting the view direction in 3D is possible using the view-by-one-point command.
How to use
-
Run the command.
-
Following the prompt, select (snapping is allowed) a point in the window.
-
In the Plane By One Point dialog, select a view (or plane) orientation, or choose to create a section that is orthogonal to the current view direction (Align to View). More about align-section.
-
Click OK.
