Description

Calculates the points at which selected drillholes intersect specific wireframe surfaces, and write those intersections as a new data points, along with a series of optional attributes (including wireframe thickness).

How to Use

  1. Ensure that the required drillholes and wireframe data is displayed.

  2. In a 3D window, select the required drillholes.

  3. In the Intersect Drillholes with Wireframes dialog, define the output object settings.

  4. Select the wireframe object(s) to be used for generating intersection points, either from the displayed list or by using the Data Picker button and selecting wireframes in the 3D window.

note.gif (1017 bytes) The drillholes can also be selected when this dialog is displayed, but beforeOKis clicked.
  5. Click OK.

Use this command for:

  • Drillhole planning -  for example,  to ensure that there is adequate coverage of the target (define by an existing wireframe(s)).

  • Safety - to determine where existing or planned drillholes intersect underground excavations ( possibly compromising ventilation).

Intersection Point Fields

Depending on the option chosen in the dialog, either the current points object is updated, or a new points object is created. In both cases, the following new output fields (columns) will be added:

  • _X_Coord: the world X coordinate of the intersection point.

  • _Y_Coord: the world Y coordinate of the intersection point.

  • _Z_Coord: the world Z coordinate of the intersection point.

  • SYMBOL: the point symbol code (default is 201 i.e. a circle).

  • COLOUR: the color number of the intersected wireframe triangle.

  • INTSCT: a value indicating the intersection number down a hole. Each drillhole is traversed from the collar to the end of hole, and the index, starting at 1 for each hole, incremented for every intersection down the hole.

  • BHID: the identifier of the intersecting drillhole.

  • WRFM: the name of the intersected wireframe object.
