Description

Project points onto a wireframe at the angle determined by the SDIP and DIPDIRN fields associated with the current points object if present.

If these fields are not present, a vertical projection is performed.

How to Use

  1. Specify a projection angle using Edit ribbon |Project | Project | Points to Wireframe at Angle

  2. Select the point(s) you wish to project (it is important to select the point first, and then run the command).

  3. Run Command.

  4. The original position of the point is transposed to the wireframe surface at the specified angle. For example, the following point location is above the DTM (shown as an outline (hull) only):

selecting this point with a left-click, then running this command causes the point to be projected onto the wireframe surface as shown:

The point is not inside the wireframe, it is on the surface, but the full extents of the wireframe hull are drawn as infinite clipping is used - see related topics for more information on clipping. The blue line is drawn to indicate the angle of project, and is for illustrative purposes only.
