Destination Constraints

Define destination constraints

Destination Constraints

To access these functions:

    • In the Scheduling Setupdialog, select any of the items in the Destinations menu group, including existing destinations.

    • In the Update Schedule dialog, select the browse button next to Destinations (restricted menus system, limited functionality will be available).

This topic relates to functionality found on the Destination General Settings panel. Information displayed in this section will relate to the currently selected destination.

A destination's material can be constrained by using a combination of Constrain by Category, Constrain by Range and Constrain by Filter parameters.

Constrain by Category

The destination's Constrain by Category group is used to define the material categories' use and their associated weight settings.

Category: The material categories listed are derived from the Block Reserves file's CATEGORY data column; this is set up in theProject Settingsdialog'sSelect Datatab.

Use: tick the box to permit the category to be sent to the destination; clear (default) the box to prohibit the category.

Weighting: Enter a value for the weighting factor (default '0'; 0='no weighting applied'; range typically 0 - 10).

Using the Weighting Factor

The values defined in the Weighting field are used when the Blend function is used.

Low values indicate a low priority. The blending equations are set up with these values, each variable weighted by the corresponding number. If you want more of a certain category you increase the weighting. If you want more material to go to a destination then you increase all of the weighting factors for that Destination relative to other destinations.

Constrain by Range

The destination's Constrain by Range group is used to define the property range constraints that control what material can be sent to a particular destination. For example, this feature could be used to control the grade range and rock types for material that is sent to the plant or a stockpile.

Field Details:

Property Range grid:

Property: A list of the data fields that can potentially be used to constrain scheduled material (these fields are sourced from the Block Reserves (results) file).

Use: tick the box to use the defined minimum property value.

Min: Define a minimum value for the selected property constraint.

Use: tick the box to use the defined maximum property value.

Max: Define a maximum value for the selected property constraint.

Constrain by Filter

The destination's Constraint by Filter group is used to constrain what material can be sent to a particular destination using defined filters.

Filters are defined using the Constraints | Filters panel.

Field Details:

Filter: select a predefined filter name from the drop-down.

Filters: click this button to add, edit or view filters, using the Filters panel.

Expression: view the filter expression associated with the selected Filter.
