Destination Capacity

Define destination limits per period

Destination Processing Capacity

To access these functions:

  • In the Scheduling Setupdialog, select any of the items in the Destinations menu group, including existing destinations.

  • In the Update Schedule dialog, select the browse button next to Destinations (restricted menus system, limited functionality will be available).

This topic relates to functionality found on the Destination General Settings panel. Information displayed in this section will relate to the currently selected destination.

A destination's Processing Capacity is an important property when defining the schedule. The manner in which the capacity is defined will affect how material is treated during scheduling. The capacity of a destination is specified in terms of the mass or volume of material that can be sent there in a period. The mass unit is dependent on the data set and is usually tonnes.

Field Details:

Unlimited: select this option to set an infinite capacity i.e. no capacity limitations are set for the destination; it will 'receive' as much material as is scheduled unless restricted by other constraints (default).

Limited to: select this option to set an upper capacity limit for the destination; material will only be permitted at the destination up to the specified mass limit.

Meet exactly: select this option to define a specific mass that must be met before the destination will 'receive' the scheduled material.

Capacity: enter a value (tonnes or volume units) if either the Limited To or Meet Exactly option have been selected.

Tonnes: the current mass unit is Tonnes.

Volume: the current mass unit is Volume.

Per: enter a value corresponding to the selected time unit.

Time Unit: select a time unit from the drop-down.

Capacity bounds by period: select this option to define capacities by End Time, and Maximum in the capacity bounds grid.

Capacity bounds allow you to enter the maximum to be varied with time by specifying the End Time in terms of the maximum Period number that the value applies to.  For instance if the End Time is 5 in row 1 and 100 in row 2 of the Capacity Bounds grid then the first value is applied from Period 1 to 5 and the second value is applied from Period 6 to 100.

Capacity Bounds grid:

End Period: enter a value for a scheduling period in which, or up until which, the capacity applies.

Minimum: enter a minimum value for the capacity.

Maximum: enter a maximum value for the capacity.

You can enable or disable any of the Minimum/Maximum bounding values. A limit will only be used if enabled.
