Stockpile Evaluation

Evaluate the stockpile model

Stockpile Evaluation

To access this dialog use one of the following:

  • Activate the Schedule ribbon and select Model | Stockpiles | Evaluate.

The Stockpile Evaluation dialog is used to select a stockpile wireframe model, define evaluation parameters, generate a stockpile block definition, outlines and stockpile block wireframes and then evaluate these blocks in order to calculate volumes. These generated and calculated results are saved to file using the defined file names.

Field Details:

Input Wireframe:

Object: select a stockpile wireframe object from the dropdown.

Lift Field: select the lift number field (default LIFT) from the dropdown.

Use all values: select this option to use all values.

Use one value: select this option to use the value displayed in Value.

Value: enter a lift number.

Vertical cutting strings:

In order to use vertical cutting strings for stockpile evaluation, first select the required vertical cutting string(s) in the Design window, then click OK in this dialog.

Additional cutting planes:

Use additional cutting planes: select this option to use additional cutting planes when creating stockpile evaluation blocks.

Distance between planes: enter a value for the distance (units based on project settings) between planes.

Azimuth: enter a value (degrees) for the azimuth (dip direction, measured clockwise from 0 i.e. North) of the cutting planes.

Dip: enter a value (degrees) for the dip of the cutting planes.

X: enter a value (units based on project settings) for the X-coordinate of a reference cutting plane.

Y: enter a value (units based on project settings) for the Y-coordinate of a reference cutting plane.

Z: enter a value (units based on project settings) for the Z-coordinate of a reference cutting plane.

Block ID: stockpile evaluation block identifier parameters

Initial value: enter a value for the start Block ID.

Increment:enter a value for incrementing the Block ID value displayed inInitial value.Output

Objects:

Name: define a base file name for the current stockpile evaluation.

Block definition: view the read-only definition file name generated from the defined Stockpile Name.

Block wireframe: view the read-only wireframe file name generated from the defined Stockpile Name.

Block outlines: view the read-only block outlines (strings) file name generated from the defined Stockpile Name.

Outline location:

Top: select this option to set the outline position at the top of each block.

Middle: select this option to set the outline position at the middle of each block (default position).

Bottom: select this option to set the outline position at the bottom of each block.

OK: generate stockpile block outlines, evaluate, generate results and close the dialog.

Stockpile Evaluation

The stockpile wireframe is output by the Stockpile Design activity.

Using Cutting Strings and Planes

Using additional cutting planes allows you to specify additional planes to the cutting planes that will be generated from the selected cutting strings. Typically the strings you select will cut across the lift and be projected vertically to cut all lifts. Additional planes might then be used to split the lifts horizontally.

Outline location

This defines where the outline string is positioned that is created for each new wireframe. Typically this will be a mid height of the wireframe solid. If the top or bottom is chosen then the average height of the upper or lower surface of the wireframe will be used.
