Scheduling Setup: Options

This screen is used to set general Maroma scheduler settings. In effect, these define base 'rules' for the scheduler aside from those required by preceding screens.

These options are:

Stockpiles type

Choose from:

  • Warehouse Stockpiles

A warehouse stockpile is typically used to store specific grades or types of ore or material in separate and controlled areas. The material is not blended and remains segregated by its original properties or classification.

For example, a warehouse stockpile is typically useful to store ore that is stockpiled by grade for later blending.

  • Mixed Stockpiles

A mixed stockpile is created by blending materials with different properties (e.g., grades, moisture content, or other qualities) to achieve a desired composition or homogeneity. The primary goal is to produce a consistent feed for downstream processes, such as crushing, milling, or chemical processing, where uniformity in input material is critical.

For example, a mixed stockpile is suitable where blending high-grade ore with low-grade ore to meet processing plant specifications.

Maximum periods to reclaim—Material from stockpiles is considered up to the specified maximum (from the scheduled period).

Optimizer switches to Multipass... Set the number of periods at which the scheduler swaps to a sliding window heuristic to solve the optimal schedule.
Schedule all blocks...
  • Check to ensure all blocks in a pushback are mined by the schedule. Default.

  • Uncheck to allow the schedule to complete without all pushbacks being fully mined, if they are not profitable.

Maximum benches in a mining block Define the maximum number of benches per mining block (1, 2 or 3). The default is 2.
Solver timeout Set the maximum time in minutes for the solver to discover an optimal schedule solution, otherwise returning the most profitable solution found so far.
Number of cores The Maroma scheduler will utilize multiple CPU threads if they are available. Set the maximum number of cores to use for solving the schedule here.
