dependency-move-to ("dmt")

See this command in the command table.

To access this command:

  • Display the Dependencies planning task and choose Edit >> Move To.

  • Using the command line, enter "dependency-move-to"

  • Use the quick key combination "dmt".

  • Display the Find Command screen, locate dependency-move-to and click Run.

Command Overview

Choose a dependency and change its 'from' activity. Essentially, interactively move the first point of a 2-point dependency string so it is attached to another activity.

Command Steps:

  1. Display the Dependencies panel.
  2. Load dependency data using the button at the top of the task.
  3. Run the command.

  4. Pick an existing dependency in the 3D window.

    The last point of the dependency string is attached to the cursor.

  5. Move the cursor to attach the end dependency string point to another activity in view.

  6. Left or right-click to update the dependency.
