Configure the Loader Tab

The properties in the Loader tab allow you to control data loading and the way the Data Loader Window is formatted.

Activity Steps

  1. Select the Data Loader Component from the Project Tree.
  2. Select the Data Loader tab at the bottom of the Main Canvas.
  3. Select the Loader tab in the Property Panel.
  4. Configure the following options as required.
    • File
    • Load/Reload Data – To load or reload the data you can also click the Load/Reload Data buttons on the Side toolbar and Main toolbar, when necessary.
    • Refresh Mapping – Update column definitions from the data source.
    • Link to source – How the data is linked to the source file and how it reacts if the source file is changed. Select from Live, Warning and Detached. See Link to the Data Source for more information.
    • Grouping field group:
      •  Name – The name of the grouping entry. Select how the data is grouped from:
        • Assay/Domain – Domains grouped beneath assays.
        • Domain/Assay – Assays grouped beneath domains.
        • Assay – Only group by assays.
        • Domain – Only group by domains.
      • Group – Manually group data. Only available after data has been loaded.
      • Delete Child Nodes – Remove all components under the current Data Loader component.
      • Group alphabetically
      • Show grouping table
      • Highlight grouped columns – Highlight the columns to be grouped in blue in the Column Definition Table. The hierarchy of the grouping is conveyed by the highlight from left to right.
    • Show field group:
      • Highlight rows – How rows are highlighted in the Column Definition table. Only used to assess with visual analysis and does not affect the data. Select from:
        • Alternate – Alternately highlighted rows.
        • None
        • Importing – Only highlight rows that are associated with data columns to be imported.
        • Not Importing – Only highlight rows that are associated with data columns not to be imported.
        • Mapping Type – Highlight rows with the same mapping type with the same colour.
      • Dim not imported – Dim the text colour of columns not to be imported.
      • First values – Show the First Value column in the Column Definition table to display the first value found in the data source.
      • Weight columns – Show the Weight column in the Column Definition table to display any weighting has been applied to the associated data.
      • Modules – Show the Modules column in the Column Definition table to display the module in which the mapping type is defined.
      • Display names – Show the Display Name column in the Column Definition table to allow you to change the name of the data column.
      • Expressions – Show the Expressions column in the Column Definition table to allow you to use calculated columns. See Calculated Columns for more information.
      • File viewer – Display the File Viewer on the main canvas. Used to view the data in the loaded file and determine appropriate data column offsets.
      • lines – Number of lines displayed in the File Viewer.
