Multivariate Simulation Generation

Multivariate Simulation components can be inserted beneath a domain Data Loader Component containing point data.

Important: The data grouping must be set to Domain/Assay for the Multivariate Simulation option to appear. See Group Data.

Notes:

Multivariate Simulation components must be added to a domain node with multiple child assays.

Only one Multivariate Simulation component can be added to a domain node.

Before inserting a Multivariate Simulation component, ensure you have loaded point data (see Load Data) and inserted the relevant variogram models (see Generating Variograms).

Note: Variograms must have a Normal Scores transformation applied to them to be used for conditional simulation. If the required variograms are not present, or they have not had the Normal Scores transformation applied, then new variogram models are inserted in the relevant places by the simulation. You need to complete the variogram modelling process before running the conditional simulation, because the direction chosen impacts the continuity directions in the simulation.

The multivariate simulation generation process follows the general steps outlined below.

Activity Steps

  1. Insert and configure Variogram Models.
  2. Insert Multivariate Simulation component under the Data Loader Component containing point data.
  3. Configure Multivariate Simulation Properties.
  4. Configure Multivariate Simulation Transformation Properties.
  5. Configure Simulation Search Properties.
  6. Configure Conditional Simulation Results Export Properties.
  7. Run the simulation by clicking Update Component on the Main or Side toolbar.

Note: At a minimum, a transformation must be applied to a Multivariate Simulation prior to updating the simulation component.

After completing multivariate simulation generation, see Multivariate Simulation Post Processing.
