Working with Results in Workbook after Precision Assessment

After precision assessment takes place, various pathways exist where the assessment does not pass.

Ignoring Failures on a Composite QC Status

A sample scheme analyte's Precision Status rolls into its Composite QC Status.

When a sample scheme analyte's Standard Status is Upper Failure, Lower Failure, Trend Failure (* possible to be set via Script) or Failure (* possible to be set via script), then the sample scheme analyte's Composite QC Status is set to Failure.

If a sample scheme analyte's Composite QC Status is Failure, the sample scheme analyte cannot be validated. In this situation, the execution of an Ignoring a Composite QC Failure in a Workbook Session process means that the result can proceed to validation. During this process:

  • The process only proceeds if the ALLOW_IGNORE_QC_FAILURES application preference is set.
  • The operator needs to provide a reason for the audited ignore action.
  • The sample scheme analyte's Precision Status remains unchanged.
  • The sample scheme analyte's Composite QC Status changes from Failure to Ignore Failure.
  • Where the scheme version analyte's Saved to QC History is selected, such that, a QC history record was written for the result's accuracy assessment, then the QC history's QC Status is changed as follows:
    • Upper Failure --> Ignore Upper Failure
    • Lower Failure --> Ignore Lower Failure
    • Trend Failure --> Ignore Trend Failure
    • Failure --> Ignore Failure
